Mannum
Mannum is a beautiful place in South Australia that is just a perfect place to get a B&B for a long weekend to enjoy some romantic, peaceful and natural settings. It lies by the lower Murray River, and is approx one and a quarter hours drive from Adelaide. If you’re driving from Adelaide, you can take the scenic route through Gumercha, Birdwood and then through Palmer, or you can take the more direct route via the South Eastern Freeway.
The Murray system has some of the best waters in which to cruise from and there are quite a few houseboats that are based here. There is the beautiful Mary Ann Reserve that provides the perfect picnic setting. It is overlooked by the Mannum Bowling Club over by the Murray River banks too if you enjoy bowling. There is also the Mannum Golf Club if you like to gold, which is a short walk out of the town and it features a fully greened, tree lined nine hole course.
There are so many native and tourist walks that you can do in Mannum, it really is a beautiful place and you can spend days here doing them and still leave not having done them all. There is a beautiful bird sanctuary and some perfect picnic setting near by, both with lie just past the ferry. There are also the stunning Mannum Waterfalls that lie on the outskirts of the town. There are also other great regions to explore that lie adjacent to Mannum, making it a great place to base yourself.
